Let’s be honest… You can’t have all the cake and eat.
Even though you think you can.
Your weight loss depends on you being able to avoid certain foods the majority of the time. And the majority of the time is being good for 9 days out of 10.
Below are the foods you must avoid if you want to see fast, lasting results.
Some of these are obvious but others have concealed themselves as healthy options.
Read the list, write it down and then check your kitchen straight away.
It WILL be time for a kitchen cleanse!
Just pointless if you are trying to lose weight! If the say ONLY 99 CALORIES that makes them worse. Crisps are a poor carbohydrate full of chemicals that will potentially halt your weight loss goal.
Milk is one of those foods that you might think doesn’t really matter. You consume it in small doses so who cares about the nutrient profile? But if you are a big coffee drinker, your milk consumption could really add up. Opt for a healthier alternative like almond, low fat or coconut milk.
Even the little 100 calorie pouches are things you should avoid. It is recommended that you do not exceed 40 grams of added sugar per day. Do you know how easy it is to blast past 40 grams before lunch? Those little single serves packs can contain up to a quarter of that amount.
Although they are marketed as being crucial for replenishing, hydrating and getting your vitamins, energy drinks are NOT essential to your day. They are high in sugar which just STOPS your weight loss potential in its tracks. Try water flavoured with citrus or make iced green tea if you are really needed that caffeine boost.
PURE SUGAR….If you love frozen yogurt, keep it as an ‘outside’ snack. One you stop and grab when you MUST indulge. Frozen yogurt contains less fat than ice cream but it is still loaded with sugar.
Bad news for ketchup lovers. One of the main ingredients in ketchup is high fructose corn syrup. 1 tablespoon of ketchup can contain 4 grams of sugar. Who eats only 1 tablespoon? Those sugar totals are sure to add up fast. Best to avoid ketchup all together.
Just NO! DO not get margarine and butter mixed up. Margarine contains trans fat, the worst kind of fat. Trans fats have a negative impact on your cholesterol levels and your heart health so if your fridge is hiding margarine, best to ditch it.
Microwave popcorn is loaded with sodium, fat and calories.
And no Special K is not a diet food.
Some cereals contain as much sugar as a chocolate bar. Yes, you read that right! Always check the nutrition label before you buy your cereal. If it has more than 8 grams of sugar per serving, put it back on the shelf and walk away. Even better opt for eggs for breakfast.
Just no. No white bread. Ever. No real nutritional value but lots of sugar and processed ingredients that lead to weight gain rather than weight loss.
Need I say more?
Now go and clean out those cupboards.
